Who are we?
Đoàn Thánh Tâm is one out of 142 chapters across the United States under the jurisdiction of the Vietnamese Eucharistic Youth Movement, also known as Thiếu Nhi Thánh Thể. The Chapter was established on November 20th of 2005 and is currently located at Our Lady of Lavang Parish in Happy Valley, Oregon. Throughout the years, Đoàn Thánh Tâm has been a place where Vietnamese Catholic youth of all ages can learn and grow in their faith with their peers, but also learn to be great leaders within society. Đoàn Thánh Tâm consists of nearly 200 members and is mainly active during the traditional Portland school year (September to June).
About VEYM
The Vietnamese Eucharistic Youth Movement is a non-profit organization, under the leadership of the Catholic Church. Its aim is to teach youths to be virtuous people and good Christians. It also offers apostolate services for the youth. Throughout its years of service, the VEYM has kept pace with social and cultural changes of the day in an attempt to reach out to the youth of all times.
Mission of VEYM
- To educate and train youths in becoming a better person as well as an excellent Christian.
- To organize and to guide all youths in spreading the Good News of the Gospel and to actively be involved in working for the good of society through charitable services and helping others.
